pointer 543
No but as it was shook by a 70 pound GWP its neck would have broken, still a big rat. This photo has been on various forums and inevitably some will think its been messed with,id be the same if i saw it.I know thats how it was retrieved to me by my dog.Its head seemed oddly shaped, and the rats teeth were overgrown.Off-course there will have been some stretch after the dog mullered it. The bottom rat was quickly taken off the dog as there was a comp running and wouldnt have been included if the other dogs pulled it in half Quote Link to post

RAMCAM 4
they are more likely to be capabara the worlds biggest rodents, the biggest i have taken, (no tape measure) but its body was the same as my size 11 le chemau wellies Nope, The Capybara don't have tails Phantom It could be a coypu rat Size: The Coypu is about 1 metre (39 inches) in length from the end of it's muzzle to the tip of it's round scaly tail. The tail alone accounts for about one third of it's length. It has short rounded ears, and small eyes that are set high on the head (like those of a beaver) so that it can see clearly whilst swimming. Weight: Adult males weigh about 7kg (15.5lbs) though some have known to reach 9kgs with the female about 1kg lighter. Quote Link to post
pointer 543
another one i saw caught by hedgehunter27 dog.sadly the picture isnt as clear as it looked when we laid it out.the tip of the tail just blends in with the cow shit covered concrete but when the pic was blown up the tail can be clearly seen ending on 19 inch as we knew it was,but in the pic below it goes back to looking like it ends a bit before. another rat that was caught in the middle of a barn where they normally get away. pointer 543
i was only messing with u i know mate i just wanted to make clear to everyone that i know that its neck and some vertebrae may have broken, but in saying that i feel confident that when it was alive this was still the biggest rat a dog of mine has ever taken........ i wish id photographed it the other way round aswell as i thought at the time its head was an unusual shape for a rat.infact maybe i should have got the right pic and got it in the papers and news Quote Link to post
