RAMCAM 4
Hi all Just read about these rats on another forum, a guy said he'd grab his Air Arms and leg it. I decided to check it out. Phantom 631
The camera angle and focal lenght of the lense was used to exagerate the size of the rodent. I watched the reports on the news when the story broke. But no one has ever filmed one yet on that estate. It also makes you wonder where the guy was shooting? I'd hate to think he was walking the streets and shooting in them round here! Phantom Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
that is never a 30 inch rat. if it was it would have been photographed next to something, to give it some sort of scale. like a cigarette packet, or something else of a standard size. it may be big, but 30 inches is just exageration. pointer 543
Not this Bollocks again If anyone got a big rat it's easy to stick it next to a tape measure, but that rarely happens.Yet I keep hearing about big rats. I suppose it sells newspapers and scares housewives lol Quote Link to post

Yes i would have thought they would use something to scale the size of the rat. Quote Link to post
redeye jedi 39
30 inch rat???? what a load of shite, if these rats were amoung us then someone would have footage on a camera/phone. plus a rat that big wouldnt raid your bin it'd put it on its back and feck off with it. pointer 543
I consider anything 19 inch and over to be a big rat,I've only caught a few in years of ratting.30 inch in Britain......,,,I just don't believe it but would love to see one. Quote Link to post

The one 8,473
check the date published on 19 of august that would have given them more that two months to find another super sized rat i reckon its been air brushed or there would have been more Quote Link to post
pointer 543
Its not airbrushed, just put closer to the camera.I've seen it done loads of times with fish.the give away is often the extended arm of the guy holding it lol Good sized rat Davy,we get a fair few that size, for some reason getting them over 19 inch is rare for us. Phantom Hi Phantom On another site it says, Super-sized Rats in Indonesia and South America can grow up to three feet long and witnesses say the rats in Bradford are just as big. they are more likely to be capabara the worlds biggest rodents, the biggest i have taken, (no tape measure) but its body was the same as my size 11 le chemau wellies Quote Link to post
pointer 543
the biggest two i had last year, both killed by a dog.........i didnt see the biggest being killed but it must have been a bit slow as it was taken in my own garden in thick cover, the other was taken by a terrier in a dairy byer and it too was slow to move when the lights came on.In my experience the bigger rats tend to be slow and easily caught.
