Fat-Ferret 857
I took my young bitch out tonight a couple of minutes drive from home, just for a few runs and home again. We usually travel quite a bit for a good nights lamping but tonight we stayed close on some new ground we have been meaning to visit for a while. Wew were out around 9 and back around 10 The first 5 runs ended in 5 kills. The young'un is learning her game well and doesnt mind hitting the ditch for one or two either! We moved on, pestered by a fox who came behind me so close at one stage I could have kicked his ass! We had another three runs in the next field all ending in kills, one right through some sheep which I thought she lost until I heard the squeal and she came trotting through the sheep, her head held up to stop the rabbit dragging on the ground, her 19" is a disadvantage when retrieving...The occassional time when she does! She lost another at a fence, and as we crossed in to that field we spotted it again, looking lost and she spun him round the field a few times before making a dramatic sliding tackle and loosing her grip on him before rolling him again a few hundred yards up the field. As we headed for the car, I spotted a squatter and walked her right up onto it and she lifted it right up out of its seat...A nice end to a good night. I took this picture on my phone before she took the final rabbit on the way home Edited November 3, 2010 by Fat-Ferret Quote Link to post
