mikeyblue 28
Hi All, Went out just after midnight to my cricket club permission. I wasnt expecting big things as I am starting to get on top of them now, having taken a fair few over the back end of summer/autumn. They are also getting shy of the lamp, so will have to buy a red filter when I have some spare funds, either that or knock one up. Started the usual way, signs on any entrance to the ground informing pest control was being undertaken, also my mobile number on there. I checked zero, spot on thankfully, and started off. It was a frustrating start, after locating at distance I would switch the lamp off, stalk to within range, adopt a firing position, flick the lamp back on, nothing This game of cat and mouse carried on for an hour before I switched the lamp on to sweep, and a bunny's eyes lit up at about 35yds, crouched to kneel, released the shot, bunny crumpled and with a stretch it was lights out. I did get to within range of another but as I had it in the sights I couldnt guarentee the pellet wouldnt pass through the rabbit and thus landing in a neighbouring garden. As much as it pained me I had to refuse the shot. Noticed while gutting, it still has the leaf it was munching when i shot it in its mouth Kind Regards, Mikey. Phantom 631
Nice shot Good one for not taking the shot on the second What I would have done in that situation was move around very carefully until there was a decent backstop; a fence post would have done or taken a standing shot so that if the pellet had drilled through, it would have embedded into the ground. And before anyone shouts and whinges that doing so would be impractical; I have done it time and again. Sometimes the quarry bolts, other times they don't and when they don't, its plus one in the bag SPA Phantom Quote Link to post

mikeyblue 28
Cheers Lads! Yeah Si, with that leaf in its mouth it looks like its marinading itself for the pot Hi Phantom mate, I did think about traversing round, but the little bugger was right in the corner of the ground, but thinking on a standing shot would of been an option Cheers for the advice, will get him next time Regards, Mikey.
