Border Terrier 0
how did a smackhead manage to ride his bike into your dog at 6 o clock in the morning? did he ride the bike into your garden, your house or your dog kennel or was the dog wandering the streets by any chance? thats how your post reads sorry if i have got it wrong but how can someone run a dog down with a bike unless the dog is running loose in the first place? Border Terrier 0
it just seems odd that you would have a dog off the lead in the street at that time of the morning, good to hear there was someone with the dog though. hope it gets better soon Quote Link to post

fr0gman4 0
Dirty smackrats want burning the lot of em.... we were out mooching with the dog through the woods the other day and we passed this young family with a couple of bairns who were charging about picking up sticks and rattling the trees and generally just exploring the place and enjoying themselves just after we passed them the dog started to show an interest in something in the grass by the side of the path. When I had a look what it was it was a shiney black/red/silver can about the size of a red bull can. I was just about to pick it up when i noticed a symbol on it in red. BIOHAZARD. so i had a really close look at the writing and it read contaminated sharps container. So I dragged it out with a stick and it was full of dirty used syringes the top was missing and these things were hanging out all over. So gloves on carefully picked up and dropped into bin. But to think a young kid playing about could have picked it up and got stuck Druggies they want finishing off Quote Link to post

Pignut 4
My lurcher cut all his ligaments and tendons down the bone on his back leg (below the knee). Rushed to the vet and £800 later and 4 hour micro-surgery, plus a splint and cast for 6 weeks changed every 3 days, he was pronounced as best as he could be. 5 years down the line, my lurcher is ok, not brilliant, but ok. His foot has dropped and he walks on the wrong part of his pad, which can get very sore and ulcers at the drop of a hat. We were told he might have to have his leg amputated but we were very lucky and he copes but is retired from work (though we have yet to tell him that!). It has aged him alot and he limps quite often if he does too much. We also have to clip his toe-nails as they no longer wear down naturally. He still goes off hunting! Best of luck. I know how you feel. If I can help, pm me. Cheers Pignut Quote Link to post

Guest MOLLY
y arnt u aloud too walk your dog with no lead at 6 o clock in the morning ? and he wa obviously out thieving and my dad was walking with him and the dog was round the corner and all my dad heard was him yelping and the smackhead came up too my dad with the sob story like they do but didnt work and are you trying to get a little hint in border terrier ? It is illegal in most public places to walk a dog off the lead...check out Defras laws. (Im sure there is a dog warden on here who could explain better). If a dog was hit by a push bike then it was not under control at the time no matter how well trained it is. MOLL. Quote Link to post

Guest MOLLY
Compassion has nothing to do with it, just common sense. If it had been a motorbike or car the dog would'nt be here now, better to err on the side of caution dont you think, NO dog is 100% safe MOLL. Quote Link to post
