Terryorr 27
Have a couple in the gunroom. I peeled the tail of the bone and washed it 1st. Then got a 2 litre plastic milk carton (washed it out) and half filled it with meths. Push the tail through the top and close carton with cap. Give it a good shake and leave for a week, shaking it once every day. Take tail out and wash and you will have no problems.

stubby 175
could you do this with squirell tails?? of course, again far better if you strip the tail from the bone, can be tricky first time, but easy to do, I have both fox and squirrel tails
bullmastiff 615
Always found squirrel tails were a b*stard to skin! slicing gently round the base of the tail without cutting into the flesh is always the hardest bit. If you nick the flesh then when you try to pull the skin off the bone the tail just snaps off usually....
