Alright lads after my last lamp has given up the ghost i needed to invest in a new one and so bought the lightforce striker head not the battery pack. The thing is i run the lamps with a 19 ah wet cell battery. Chuck it in a rucksack and it lasts for hours!! But at the the end of the lightforce is a cigar plug i think? If i cut this off will there be the red/black wires to attach to the positive and negative connections on the batteries? Ive heard some people had problems with there wiring is there anything i can do to stop this?

Sorry for all the questions, hope somebody can help.

yes mate cut the cigar lighter jobby off and put your own connectors on the wires, but its probably a good idea to have some sort of fuse between the battery and lamp. I used an inline one from the back of a car stereo

Will the bulb blow if there is no fuse?

It`s the wiring in the handle that comes loose,Either re-solder the wires or add new connectors,

Mine runs direct to a 17ah dry battery with no fuse and I have had no problems with the bulb blowing ;)

Ive always run mine direct from the battery with no fuse.Cut the cigar connector off they reduce the power of the beam, its something to do with current I think. On the cigar fitting the outside pin is negative and the centre pin is live.

well with my white connections you just open them up and there are things the wires go into you put the wire in then tighten the screws back up iv used them foir about 4 years now and iv never had a problem they wont pull out when you get over a femce or anything you have a job pulling them out with your hands not sure what fuse it is as my mate wired it all up for me i can ask him and lt you know he siad he put the fuse on so if ever anything was 2 blow the fuse would go before the bulb ;)
