I meen like nicer than chicken and all 'normal' meats lol, I think I am going to have to start shoot more Tree Rats! Ok, heres how I cooked it..... Ingrediants Two Squirrel back legs Bread crumbs Bacon Butter 1 Egg Method 1.Dip Squirrel legs in whisked Egg, and role it in the Breadcrumbs. 2.Rap the Legs in one or two rashes of nice thick Bacon 3.Put in oven, With a huge piece of Butter on top of them both. Hope that make sense lol, Oh and Im not sure what Temp the oven was on ask your Wife/Mum thats what I did as I wouldnt have a clue otherwise lol. I meen seriously, this meat is brilliant, I thought it would be like most strange foods, Ok but just a novelty, But this just leaves me wondering why the hell Squirrel meat isnt more 'mainstream', ITS f*****g NICE!!! land rover 0
Just found a recipe for Bumper Bushytail, in a Sportsmans cook book. by Mrs E.M walker. 2 Squirrels soaked in salted water or vinegar and water for 24 hrs. Dry dip in flour. Put the squirrels in a monster pot! cover with water laced with tarragon vinegar. Simmer for 2 hours, then put diced onion, celery and carrot. Add salt, a bay leaf and a heaped teaspoon curry powder. cook for a further 2 more hours. meat will be dropping off bones. Fish out. Next drop in the sliced potatoes and bunch of parsley and a cupful of mushrooms. simmer for another half an hour. I have never tried this someone out there might try it. I think I'll stick to my chicken! lol.
