bouncer 51 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Share Posted October 29, 2010 can anyone help?i have got a 2000 plate {w}reg astra 1.7 dti and every time i give it a bit of welly it begins to rattle and loses power,i have changed the mass air flow meter and it seems a little better but coming from lamping tonight i lost all power again and engine management light came on.switched the engine off let it rest for a couple of minutes and got the power back i am wondering could it be the crank sensor any help much appreciated its starting to do my head in. Tiny 7 1,694 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Share Posted October 29, 2010 I had one and mine was the same, Had what you had changed, T the ecu/chip thing in change and re-set still nothing, After bout £560 i found out it wasa blocked exhaust just before the cat....... andyfr1968 772 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Share Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) Mine used to do exactly the same thing, the lag was bloody unreal... Mine's a 51 plate with 112000 on the clock and I fixed it by cleaning out the inter-cooler and all the pipes useing brake cleaner. They were full of crap!!! Helped the economy a good bit too. Cheers.
