CarraghsGem 92 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Share Posted October 29, 2010 how do i mount a skull properly? ive a goat skull here, nearly ready to mount, horns are nearly 3ft each. any diagrams or tutorials out there? also where can i buy a plaque to mount it onto and what size should it be? steve109 43 Posted October 31, 2010 Report Share Posted October 31, 2010 how do i mount a skull properly? ive a goat skull here, nearly ready to mount, horns are nearly 3ft each. any diagrams or tutorials out there? also where can i buy a plaque to mount it onto and what size should it be? there are a few ways to do this. 1 macceration 2 beetles 3 remove as much meat as you can then place the skull in 3 bin liners with a pint of water [sealed] this is what you will need to do to sweat the the horns from the cores this process may take 3/4 weeks or even longer once you get the horns off you then can go ahead and boil the skull for cleaning.
