GetOnitSkinDown 5
pheasants and partridge getting up at your feet is a bugger and that feeling when you think you've been caught, somewhere you shouldn't be. . out walking the terriers one day, somewhere we shouldn't be , when we heard someone shout "get the f*ck off my land" being in some rough grass and open field, we looked round and round and couldn't spot anybody. thinking "f*ck this", we got off the field and walked back towards the road. when a land rover pulled up, with a bloke leaning out. almost needed a fresh pair of underwear that day . Never caught us though. Was out with the airgun one day, earlydoors, chilled out in a bush waiting to ambush some coneys, with a treeline next to me. a few lads walking down the other side of the treeline, me shitting myself, i stayed where i was, quite well hidden. well 8 or so crows flew out of this tree and 2 of them flew straight into me . i bricked it. got a f*cking black eye too. must have been well hidden to be fair though, . would be nice to hear some old stories from some big poachin lads, ATB - (in the fight against not bricking it over pheasants getting up at your feet)
Simoman 110
Many years ago i was asked to clear some rabbits on some land belonging to the parish council, they had a village hall and some football fields that had become a breeding ground for rabbits, i was given free run for the weekend to eradicate as many rabbits as possible and was promised some cash in hand for clearing them. I boxed up the ferrets, grabbed the dog and headed to the remote piece of land on the outskirts of a small village. I also took my tent as along with the ferreting i intended to do a spot of lamping once the sun went down. The first day proved eventfull with rabbits bolting everywhere, from under the village hall itself and the many warrens in the surrounding fields. Just as the sun was setting i pitched my little two man tent, cooked a simple meal on the gas stove and decided to get a few hours sleep before see what was about in the early hours, i wormed my way into my sleeping bag, pulled the dog next too me and drifted off for a peacefull sleep. I was awoke at 2am by the low deep growl of my dog, i told him off and tried to snuggle back into the sleeping bag muttering threats about castration and vet visits when i heard something snag one of the guide ropes and a shadow fall on the side of the tent, the dog started growling again but i placed a hand on his muzzle to quiten him, i slowly grabbed my lamp, unzipped the tent and stood outside, it was a moonless night and all the lamp picked up was the rabbits feeding on the feeds and a solitary fallow buck which trotted off as soon as the beam illuminated him. I got back into my tent and sleeping bag and barely 30 seconds later the dog started growling again and he appeared to be following something circling the tent, by now i was very scared, my imagination was running wild and all i could do was watch the dog and pull the sleeping bag around me, it was then i heard a faint noise, a noise i recognised but couldn't quite place, then the realisation hit me, the noise.....it was the zips on my tent being slowly opened, i daren't look and just screwed my eyes tighter......then i felt pressure on my right leg through the sleeping bag, like a hand gripping my ankle, the pressure increased and i felt like screaming with fear and pain....then the hand started pulling my leg.......just like im pulling yours now
