Xmas Ferreting

Well after eating & drinking to much over xmas i recieved an invite to go & loose a few pounds walking the hills of Yorkshire the weather could not have been kinder sun clear sky & just enough breeze to keep cool,no sooner on the fields when Nigel's young Gypsy marked one at home & as normal she was spot on we had some great runs with both Penny & Gypsy catching & pulled a pair from the stone walls which Gypsy also marked the young ferret is coming on a treat we ended the day with 7 in the bag but also bolting a baby of approx 3-4 weeks cheers for a top day Nigel look forward to our next outing

well done lads,some superb picts there and a good day out aswell by the looks of it.ferrets and dogs under a big sky,it takes some beating :clapper: but with two handy looking whippets there, why so much netting,them wee crackers would,ve missed many i would,nt have thought ? ;)

Great to be out and about. :)

 

Looking farward to taking my young one out, she is keen as musterd. ;)

 

What age did you start taking yours ferreting PW?

We only used 6 nets as the farmer was about & moaning he has a plague of rabbits this place was wiped out with mixi a few months ago & is just starting to pick back up

 

Frank i would let a 6 month whippet tag along to learn what going on a bit but would not not do any serious work untill 9-12 months its better to wait a bit than over face the pup good luck with your pup

Thanks very much PW, i was thinking along the same lines. ;)

 

She is just coming out with me on short walks around certain feilds near me at the moment and loves stretching her legs, running around. :)

Im getting her use to going threw gates, across ditches ect, she is coming on well. :thumbs-up:
