Guest Bodach
Hi, You should have the reel handle on the left if you are right handed, check the drag on the reel you may need to turn it around, instructions should be with reel, use the bottom half of your rod and fit the reel onto it, put the backing through the eyes of the rod and form a slip knot to attach to reel in the backing, get a pencil and get someone to hold the backing spool on the pencil, reell in the backing with slight tension to fill up the reel evenly. Hardist part is judging how much backing you will need, to attach the bacing to the fly line you will need to make a nail knot or purchase a packet of webbing sleeves and some super glue, you can do this at bot ends of the fly line using the loop end sleeve at the front to attach your leader to the fly line. and that is that Easy when you know how! craig 0
Castings no bother either, but i would find an open space away from the water just to get the basics, and to sort out the whipcracks your gonna get Quote Link to post
