Guest deerhound hunter Posted October 29, 2010 Report Share Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) WENT OUT LAST NITE ,JUST LOCALLY ,ME AND MY 9YR OLD SON HAS BEEN GOING FOR A WHILE NOW ,DONE A BIT FERRETING ,BUT IT IS HE,S FIRST SEASON ON THE LAMP,SO ABOUT HALF 9 WE HEAD OUT ON FOOT AS I DO,NT DRIVE,IT WAS A BIG NIGHT FOR MY 10 MONTH OLD BULLX PUP AS ITS HE,S FIRST TIME OUT ON THE LAMP ,TOOK HE,S HALF BROTHER OUT AS WELL 2 SHOW HIM THE ROPES.TOOKS US ABOUT 15 MINS 2 GET THEIR,FIRST FIELD SEEN NOTHING,SECOND FIELD NOTHING ,SO I,D THOUGHT I WALK 2 A LOCAL HILL WHICH A BIT HARD 2 RUN YOUR DOG BUT WANTED MY PUP AND MY BOY 2 SEE SOME ACTION,SO UP WE WENT FIRST SLIP ON THE FLAT BIT OF LAND STRAIGHT DOWN A SET ,SO WE MOVE UP ON HIGHER GROUND,NEXT SLIP DOG STRAIGHT ON IT RETRIVED NOT ALIVE ,PUP WAS INTRESTED COULD SEE HIM WATCHING THE LAMP,SECOND SLIP A BIT HARDER ,THE HILL IS LIKE A 45 DEGREE ANGLE SO NOT EASIEST 2 RUN UP AND DOWN ,ANYWAY HE GOT IT WITH A BIT OF A EFFORT ,ON THE TOP CAUGHT ANOTHER 2 WITH EASE ,FIVTH WAS ON ITS IN WAY IN THE BAG ,WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY PUP PULLS MY BOY OF HIS FEET,COULD,NT BELIEVE HOW KEEN HE IS AFTER 1 NIGHT ,I,M OVER MOON WITH HIM ,STILL GOING LET HIM WATCH FOR BIT LONGER HE HAS STILL GOT ALOT 2 LEARN BUT SO FAR SO GOOD,AND THE BOY WAS CHUFFED ASWELL 2 SEE SOME ACTION AS HIS BEEN OUT A FEW TIMES AND NOT EVEN SEEN NOTHINK,ON THE WAY SEEN SOME LOCALS COMING OUT OF THE PUB AND ASKED IF WE COULD SPARE AFEW RABBITS ,SO I THOUGHT WHY NOT I ONLY KEEP THEM FOR MY MATES HAWK,SO THEIRS ONLY 2 IN THE PICS Edited October 29, 2010 by deerhound hunter Quote Link to post

One of my neighbours took his young son out for the first time, he even claimed an assist when the dog chased one past him and he stuck his leg out!
