Always buy the best glass you can afford whatever the gun ..If you upgrade to R/F C/F it will always be up to the job..

Depends what you want to use the gun for, I use a nikko stirling 6x42 on my .22 rimfire and its excellent imo, cheap, brilliant eye relief, best I've used for the price so far, really handy for akward shots from a vehicle when lamping and you can't get the scope at the right distance,.. I have it attached to my battered old cz ..... End of the day theres that many options and everyones got their own opinions... But for the money, take a look on ebay or jsramsbottom at the nikko's, depending on mag you want..

Quality glass comes at a price, and so does build quality, coatings on the lenses themselves are also costly,

But the real noticable difference is in poor or failing light, or on mirky days, repeatable turrets that go to zero after a tracking test are also in this, cheap scopes may hold tracking for a while

but as the cheaper mechanisims get wear and tear, they will loose out in the tracking test over time.

hope this sheds a little bit of light on the difference.

Snap.

hi buddy

cheap scope can do the same a 300 pounds scopes,if you want some really nice ones with AO parallax and Ir then your talking 80-150 for them,i have just got some 6x24x50IR scopes brand new not even opened 40 pounds posted pal your see them in my pic below,

alot of the time its price is to do with the brand, same as clothing matey,

i have owned alot of scopes but after davy63 help me out and showed me mil-dot holdovers etc,i now am getting the hang of them.

if its just for a air rifle sub12 and you will be using the rifle alot of time spend at least a 100 matey so they last you

What is you use? what calibre? I use scope from £20 new to £400+. Some scope is like trend, & you pay too much for. For rim fire 'hawke' or bargain 'ags' good, for 30cal+ you need quality, as recoil smash to pice scope. Also what distance you shoot, small scope no efficient to 300meter +, you need bigger objective. The choise is your , go look at many.

i once put a Hawke endurance 30 on a .308 i had took it to the club tried to zero and couldn't get better than an 1" at the 100 yrd then the group got bigger shook the gun and could here a rattle took scope of shook it and it sounded like it had some small ball bearings in it,,,,,you get what you pay for and if you do a fair bit of lamping buy good quality i only use Leupolds and Burris not to be smug or better than any one else simply they are shit hot in day light and the same at night.
