Pheasant feeder squirrel

Recommended Posts

I went for a walk around my shoot today to check on the pheasant feeders and took my AA S510 in case a squirrel might be attracted to them. I have been trapping the squirrels hard with Mark 4 Fenns but you can never get them all with traps and as predicted I saw the movement of grey as I approached one of my feeders. I moved slowly as sudden movement spooks them and although he had moved away from the feeder a twitching tail gave away his position in a nearby tree. I reckoned he was about 15 yards which is spot on for my near zero point. I steadied myself as it was free standing shot slowly squeezed once my cross hairs were centred on his head. Down he fell as the AA field struck the sweet spot and although I lost sight of him I could hear the tell tell sounds of him thrashing in the leaves as he kicked his last. By the time I reach him he was stone dead and I though take a couple of pics for the forum as I had my phone with me so here you go. I am now looking forward to another stroll to see if anymore have dodged the Fenns.

Cheers,

Dave.

Very well placed shot indeed :clapper:

Nice little write up too

I'd award you an SP but because I finished after midnight last night, the system thinks I've handed em all out for today

I'll be back, SP in hand for you tomorrow

Keep em coming :notworthy:
