Been out with 1 of my mates up in the fell with couple of lurchers he has.pointer grey xbeddy grey.after walking for some time up a fell we got to a point so we could see right into a big valley covered in siv beds patches of white grass etc.now after we got our breath back he released these to dogs.off they went nose down tail up working 15-20 feet apart.after reatching a long patch of white grass 1 of the dogs increased his pace now out of the end of white grass old charlie boy was making good his escape.2 dogs where now looking up and running full belt they new 1 had lifted.100 yard course bang dead. :notworthy: .10 minutes break.then we where off again.put another 1 out of a rocky type of spot but he was well away .absolutely brill day.excellent to watch.anybody else got these type of dogs?or do this type of hunting?

Though i've always been predominantly a lamper, i've always encouraged my dogs to hunt up daytime. As long as they are 'firstly' well schooled with the lamp, they have all took to it well and in the right specks, i've had good success and providing that i'm still lamping 'em regular, i've seen no difference in their night time performance.

Working them alongside terriers has also brought them on in this department, so long as they have a good prey drive they do the job.

My current mutt is improving all the time in this department and our daily walks usually produce some good hunting now. I wouldn't say my dogs have been any better than someone who does this type of hunting bar anything else but they certainly do 'ok'.
