AL BUNDY 45
you know the Saluki is at the top of my list but its a result of `its always what you want`! `ok you get what you want` and she comes up with this! Bring the show pony round and she will be sold! She loved the picture of that pup any news on the lining? when/if the bubbys are there we could arange an acidental visit and hey presto I might even be eligable for joining the Saluki crew has she had a bang on the head recently.if not mabye thats what she needs. TOMO 26,633
if you look at the rusian coursing sites, they still run borzios, but there working types look quite difrent from the show stuff over here, they also cross them with saluki and greys as well. Quote Link to post
Guest chook
borzoi x whippet but why/ a 30 ins dog crossed with a 18,,,20 in dog makes no sence whatsoever . borzoi what does it offer ,,absolutly nothing!!! sorry if you find this negative ,but there is enough dogs about to choose from without getting into these weird and wonderfull crosses , just another addition to the rubbish pile Dont critisize till youve actualy had experance of the breed. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/141419-first-time-ferreting/page__p__1432485__hl__borzoi__fromsearch__1#entry1432485 and yes it is a show dog too. reserve best bitch at blackpool 2010. Too many breeders breed for prolific coat IMO. It makes a big difference between the 2. There is a breeder in Wales that often crosses Borzoi with collies too. As for Silkens, they look lovely dogs, pocket size borzoi. If I remember rightly there are less than 10 in the UK, and not a recognised breed over here. That's a long waiting list and a high price silken windhounds. First cross Borzoi whippet wouldn't look like a silken as first crosses tend to be short coated. Silkens breed true so they could well be recognised before long over here too. I work and show my Borzoi. As far as breed standard goes she is small for the breed standing 28" tts. She will never be a champ but holds her own in the ring. As for working, have only tried her ferreting, but she holds her own. I only wish I could get her out more Tell her she needs a poodle. A working dog that she can still fluff up at the end of the night Working Poodles. Quote Link to post

Scallywag 78
A friend of mine had a borzoi/greyhound first cross from an accidental mating. She was a tall dog, very fast and graceful and she slaughtered rabbits. She was never tried on anything else though. Quote Link to post

Just because there are not many around used for hunting does not mean they are incapable. Just because salukis, greys, whippets are ten a penny, doesn't make them all good. But glad you think my dog is lovely looking Quote Link to post
