Borzoy X Whippet

Right lets get things straight from the start before the arm chair hunters have theire 10 pence worth!

 

.Not my idear the Mrs wants to have her own dog (part of the pack) but her choice!

.Up to now I have always chosen exactly what i have wanted/required

.She has come up with this cross and it dose contain some usefull elements althought not ideal

 

Has anybody had experience of borzoy cross and do the experienced dog men have any advice input of things to look out for ?

 

I am just glad its no a cockerpoo!

borzoy x bullgrey is the way to go seen a few of this cross and they were useful dogs

borzoi x whippet but why/ a 30 ins dog crossed with a 18,,,20 in dog makes no sence whatsoever . borzoi what does it offer ,,absolutly nothing!!! sorry if you find this negative ,but there is enough dogs about to choose from without getting into these weird and wonderfull crosses , just another addition to the rubbish pile

you know the Saluki is at the top of my list but its a result of `its always what you want`! `ok you get what you want` and she comes up with this! Bring the show pony round and she will be sold! She loved the picture of that pup any news on the lining? when/if the bubbys are there we could arange an acidental visit and hey presto I might even be eligable for joining the Saluki crew

Silken hounds (check with google) excist these days and they are kind of a construct breed of whippet and borsoi. They look like miniature borsoi. Very attractive and what from what I have seen of them, they can run and have a prey drive. With proper education they should be able to catch small game no problem.

 

Only, these hounds are pretty expensive and waiting lists excist. I would like to have one too. The idea that after paying a big sum of money and waiting for months to years a dog of this kind smashes itself up in an accident keeps me from purchasing one, I would be over-carefull maybe. A scratch on my cheap second hand car is something else than a scratch on my brand new expensive car. Sounds a bit silly I guess.

Borzoi staghound x is common in some circles over here good killers, fast but a bit aloof. Recon you'd end up with a 25 to 26 " dog whippet fast with better kill strenght. If it keeps the misses happy its probly worth giving it a go. good luck

never heard off this cross or know anyone hunting a bonzi so where would you get one form 2 breed with a whippet???? or do you know someone breeding this???

Silken wind hounds they are called in many places around the world, lovely looking little muts... wouldn't be my first choice for a lurcher.

never heard off this cross or know anyone hunting a bonzi so where would you get one form 2 breed with a whippet???? or do you know someone breeding this???

 

Well the Bonzi is a very small specialist strain of running dog, they are often clipped regularly and grown in very small kennels to keep the size down. So I am told

bless!!! ive seen these silkenhounds run on the track on the continent ,pretty looking things ,but abit frail .. but heymake a nice rug out of one !!!

bless!!! ive seen these silkenhounds run on the track on the continent ,pretty looking things ,but abit frail .. but heymake a nice rug out of one !!!

I will stick to ikear on next for rugs no waiting list for rugs from them!
