NEHunter 14
I dont doubt the advantages of raw food in a dog and when I get my lurcher in a couple of weeks I would like to feed in some raw, maybe even a large amount of raw to dry food. The question I have is where do you get it from? Internet? Butchers? Any help welcome. Thanks
mattydski 560
A few rabbits go a long way!!
wuyang 513
I just asked my local butcher for any off cuts i offered to pay, but he gave them to me free of charge. I now pick some up every week....make sure i always buy something off him though to keep him happy. Quite a lot of fat on them some times and it can take a while to bag and freeze but well worth it. I sometimes do in the pressure cooker...dogs love it. Its only beef he supplies me with though.
Chid 6,639
ask your butcher does he do dog mince or go to your local greyhound track and ask there some pet shops stock it and the big stores like pets at home normally have it in. where you from and some of the lads from your area might be able to tell you a place to go for it
driller killer 33
butchers, ask about at a few, if you can pick up regular they should put it in the freezer for you, chicken frames i usually ask for. and as said before, rabbits go a long way! I also get the odd frozen pet food block for variation. Get ya self plenty of freezer space, after a while its pretty simple, cheap and the best you can feed them
DogMagic 461
I get offcuts off the butchers. The dogs love it and as you can see from the pics are all in tip top condition. Mine dont get any dry food. Another place to get it from is landywoods or tpms. Youle find both if you google them. Mine get lamb mince, chicken wings or frames, beef tripe, kidneys from landywoods and whatever the butcher dont want.

Scallywag 78
I found the stuff my butcher gave me was too much fat rather than meat and bone. Obviously I feed whatever we catch. I also order in bulk from Durham Animal Feeds http://www.daf-petfood.co.uk/wb/ Alot of people use Landywoods http://www.landywoods.co.uk/ I find DAF a bit better in terms of quality but I think Landywoods is ok too.
