your dead right about rabbits lean grazing does make a difference in size as they are limited to how far they can travel ive seen some humongus hares to i live near an experimental farm where they grow different types of crops one hare was taken their by a bunch of kids was a monster but they didnt get to keep it as word got out and the ministry men came and took it i know all the hares round their are a couple of pound heavier than normal but this one was unreal

hi there, cant say i have ever had a huge example of any species, but what i have noticed this year is the amount of fat in the deer especially fallow,most of them you can barely make out the kidneys where they are so full of it.suppose it must be the amount of food around this year.one other thing is a rabbit job i did recently on the coast there was one area the rabbits were eating a lot of gorse roots and bark,the fat inside of them was bright yellowy orange,weird as hell ,they looked radioactive!!!

:hmm::icon_eek::hmm:

Around 4 years ago i saw a Saluki longdog take a huge November hare in my part of the fens,it was huge and when held by me by the hind hocks its front feet touched the floor as it was stretched out and im 5ft 10!,

it weighed in at almost 11 and a half pounds!.Never seen one as big before and the rest average out round here are 8lb to 9lb in mid winter.

Cought 4lb plus buck rabbits in the past but to be fare they were very obese with yellow fat around the belly and neck.
