samstorm 34
Well i was sitting at home last night watching emmerdale as you do when the mrs is in, when the bullcross man came over and said he wanted a few hours out so he went back over home to get sorted while i got my dog sorted, any ways i went over to his and off we went. walked about half a mile down the road and hopped into the first field, couldnt see much around except a few sheep. so we carried on walking. as we approacher the next fence there was rabbit number one sitting between us and the fence so off the dogs went. there was a few twists and turn and my dog is really starting to show his worth. andways we picked that one up and moved on ove the fence. as we got into the second field there was rabbit number two. yet again the dogs were off. this time both dogs were putting the pressure on and dixon (the bullcros mans dog) picked this one up with a lovely strke. so wee carried on into the third field wlaked out a little bit and there was number three sittng tucked up just over a bump, it stayed squatted so we slipped the dogs and they both didnt see it. my dog started to come back and thats when the rabbit lifted out of his seat, a quik coarse was to follow and that was number three accounted for, We them went on ove the old railway line for another and as soon as we got ove there was number four, yet another quik coarse and dixon picked that one up and in the bag it went, we walked on a few more fields missed 2 or 3 but didnt take it as a bad sign, we walked round the same field twice looking for rabbits and themn on the way out there was number five sitting tight, so off dixon went on his own the rabbit didnt even try to run, so that was another in the bag, a few fields more and a few more slips later and we had turned completely round on our selves to head for home, we went into a field which we know is holding a good few, a walk over some boggy patches and there was number six. both dogs went off and the ground was a bit boggy so the dogs pushed on. my wee dog sam picked up his third of the night and on we went, We got into the next field after failing on another couple. and there was a few around the dogs were a bit knackerd at this point but still ran on. unfortunatly we missed again. so we crossed back over the road we had walked down into the back end off the village we live in, got into the second field along and seen number seven. dixon was off the lead having already missed one in this field so i slipped my dog in the hope that dixon would see and follow. my dog picked the squatter up only to tumble and release it luckily dixon had seen what was happening and followed. he rescued the run and picked it back up. so that was four each with seven in the bag. upon going into the next field there was a few more we ran one and decided to go home with what we had. On the way home we got another run just by some conker trees. now as the dogs were running on what was to be number eight. it sat tight never even moved a muscle. as dixon went in for the strike the rabbit then jumped about five feet in the air and made a dash for it. the dogs were in quik persuit and made for the bunny, the rabbit headed for a gate and we though it was to be missed luckily the rabbit was turned and taken so that was number eight secure in the bag. any one more was picked up on the way home but it want much of a run so isnt worth telling about lol. but sorry if i bored you with this lol heres a pic of my dog sam with the catch 5 rabbits each caught 9 in the bag haha Quote Link to post

Know a few dogs bust up running into each other doing that mate, broken ribs, smashed up sholder,,,, no need to double up on lamped rabs to get a dog fit imo,, they can see each other in day but not at night on lamp,, nasty collisions,, you will end up with a bust dog mate.
