chimp 299
the wires have snapped in my cigerette socket on the battery but i cant see what way round they went , does the live have to soldered to the centre pin or outer or doesnt it matter? also while messing about i connected bare wires from the lamp direct to the battery and it worked , i then swapped them round and it still worked , i presume the bulb works ok either way or is there a set way , i cant tell as the wires arnt colour coded. as you can see i can barely wire a plug so any help is much appreciated
Captain Keg 2
The centre pin is live and the body is negative. If it's a lightforce 55w halogen job or similar, the only safe way is to wire direct to battery via a relay, fuses and a switch. Sounds cimplictaed but isn't. Even i managed to do it... Anything else and you can risk an electrical fire.

kev2010 8
It doesn't make any difference which way round you wire it,not with a bulb. Kev.
andyfr1968 772
From your cig lighter, it doesn't matter. It's a DC supply so it won't make any differance to the lamp.
medic1281 5
It'll only make a difference if you've a dimmer switch fitted. You'll know if its the wrong way round cos it won't work!! Hope that helps ATB Phil
