has any body had a problem with mites befor ? i just took a bitch on and i have seen some bald bits round her ears and a bit scabby . i dont no if its just been fed on crap food cos the coat is bad also or if its mites . has any body used stuff to get rid of it ? i have some stuff called bimectin has any body used it ?

Advocate is pretty good mate, sorts ticks, mites, mange, fleas & worms your dog as well bit expensive tho, just like a spot on put it between shooulder blades

Advocate is pretty good mate, sorts ticks, mites, mange, fleas & worms your dog as well bit expensive tho, just like a spot on put it between shooulder blades

 

i give a dog some of it last year it sorted it out but the dog screamed when given the shot for a few minutes like it was having a fit . anyway i got told to use some stuff from the chemist for crabs and scabies ?

Bimectin contains ivermectin usually used to treat horses for worms & parasitic infections, have heard of people using it on dogs before so as long as the right dose is administered should be ok

thats right i used it 0.2 of a mil last time on a 8kg dog thats was bad with mites . i give a shot under the skin behind the neck gives a bit of a sting . some guy that has chickens said some thing about a certain oil that kills them off within a few days but i cant remeber the type of oil he said

Tea tree oil or even olive oil will kill off the mites by suffocation after a couple of days, best with Tea tree if the dog has scabs/infection etc as it has natural soothing/anti-bacterial properties & when it comes in contact with the skin, it will kill the mites themselves and the bacteria that results from their bites, reducing inflamation, also an analgesic which helps to reduce pain on the affected areas, clear up alot quicker with a jab but when oil is used as well it does help speed things up. i jive her a jab of taht stuff and put some dialuted tee tree . well i mixed it with olive oil and pasted it round the ears wormed her should be sorted out now

Derbac M Mate kills all mites and helps the skin its used on humans for scabies some medicated shampoo as well

the lotion i use to get from chemist was benzyl benzoate but they stopped selling it but my pal found a place on internet for pets and found that you could still buy it through them as it was used for horses, i use it along with noromectin that a member on here kindly sent me and i havnt had a problem since, atb

old type carbolic soap works a treat, also puts a good shine on the coat, Ask a school janitor thats near you they usually have old supplies stored away.

used sheep dip last time we had mites.... dipped the pups in a bucket up to their ears + sponged down the larger dogs from head to toe.
