ordering from cabelas ?

hi i was looking at some jackets wonderd if anyone could help me will i get charged anything apart from postage to get it sent to the uk ? not got a clue about ordering from abroad .

If customs open it you'll get charged £30 odd. Cabelas are good to order from. I've been charged by customs on two out of six parcels.

There are 2 postage options i think, one is obviously more expensive but you will not be charged by customs. It states that on their website. Never had an issue when using it

i order loads of wildfowling stuff from them each year, i have never had a problem with them....... you can now pay all the tax and dutys on it all before it leave's the us so you dont get charged in the uk ..... you can also change the currency from the us dollar to sterling which is also a good thing ...

 

before it was a nightmare using the converter.......its also some times quicker ordering stuff from them than it is in the uk for deliverys

its not their place to choose!!! If customes decide to open the package and see you are purchasing something from usa to UK then you WILL BE CHARRGED

Absolutely I order quite a bit and can state customs are very very hot now. I have been charged VAT at the going rate + Import duty think it was round the 8% mark and then another 8% handling charge by TNT but on some items its still cheaper. There are lots of things they wont send due to 9/11

don't know if things have changed since I ordered from them around a year ago, but you can have the parcel marked as a "birthday gift" when filling in the order form, as no duties are paid on items that are gifts, even though its to yourself, I had mine marked "happy birthday from dad"

I send items regularly and there is some sort of fee (VAT I thought?) Even on a "gift".

I never have an issue nor do others that i know who use them too. If you try and cheat it then yes you will be charged if customs find it, if all duties are paid and correct then you won't.
