i think it would surprise a good few off here , actually what some of our lads have witnessed and been part of . conditions , lack of proper food , stress ,shock, sleep deprivation all play a part ,n

Soldiers these days are getting treated unbelievably bad...........be it when they're in service(with piss poor equipment, wages etc)or when they leave the forces a lot left to cope on there own while

why are they on the streets? im sure there are many many answers to that, probably NONE you'll EVER understand unless YOU'VE been there dont want to be helped??? get a grip who the feck wants to be

Shocking!

I'll be taking my soup in tomorrow, they are near me so will drop a box off!

Soldiers Off The Street (S.O.T.S)

Packet of soup appeal!!!

If you would like to help in a small way why not send us a packet of instant soup if everyone just sent one packet of soup we would get them to our outworkers to give the homeless a hot drink for a few weeks over winter.

The address to send your packet of soup!

Soldiers Off the Street

21A Chester Street

Wrexham

LL13 8BG

Feel ashamed I was moaning about the price of heating oil earlier.

Nothing like someone elses plight to put your own into perspective.

my father was a 30 year USNavy man, his stories and the sound of his voice when he talked about his friends and men who served with and under him who came back damaged beyond repair will haunt me till the end of my days. Its been an absolute crime what happens to the returning soldiers, yes some don't want or need help, but the number who do are absolutely staggering. He often used the Charles Dickens saying that is attached to my signature ... the only 2 exceptions he ever made were for children and for ex-military men in need of help. They have given "us" their all, some have lost everything for "us", and they are forgotten and derided instead of being lauded as the heroes they are. Tragic, thats the only word that comes to mind. But with groups like that, there is something the normal person can do to help.

Why are they on the streets in the first place, cant help people who dont want helped.

They must have a pension and benefits if unemployed, others manage why not them.

The above are questions not insults, i just dont understand how such people end up on the streets after leading such a regimented and organised routine and life, how do they end up homeless, is it drink {alcoholism} because of stress ??.

we had a homeless guy here, government didnt like the press he got, so they kept shipping him upto jail for being drunk, out of sight out of mind so to speak, until he died.

ted the tramp the local papers named him.

money is not allways the answer some people come back with injurys you can see. post tramatic strees disorder is invisable , , we had a lad on the hod with us back in 1983 been the falklands he came in out of hours loaded out every slab with bricks

could not sleep trained all the while never drank just could not settle i asked him one day he eyes told me to f**k off and mind me own, two years later told by his mate he had ptsd , dont judge people , and manx like you said you dont understand none of us will unless you have been there and done what these men have done seen and all the men before them who have served in conflict we will never know ;)

what about the lad in the papers , had his leg blew off by IED , just lost his home and benefits .. because he can now walk 400m unassisted .. it makes my blood boil . if the animal who planted the device turned up at dover i dare say as a asylum seeker hed b entitled to benefits .

cheers private , ive just blew ya feckin legs off now im gona come and rape your country!

We dont get a pension in all cases. minimum lengths of time need to be served and even then this pension wont pay out untill the age of 55. This country is a f*****g disgrace, we send our guys out to foriegn soil risking thier lives to defeat terror and they allow this same enemy to stay in our country living off the tax payer! these people give up their human rights the moment they preach thier shite. i'll be passing this around the guys at work and get a collection going for our homeless comrades.
