Ive been dealing with a rat infestation in two adjoining bungalows, and thought I'd show a few photos of the problem.

The house has only been up for 18 months so it just shows how quickly an infestation can take hold, and the damage they can do in a short time.... In both lofts the rats have chewed though mains power cables, water pipes, and destroyed massive areas of insulation ( which is soaked in urine and stinking of rat)...note the defined runs and smear marks on the the timbers.

This is as bad as I've seen. The tenants have had to move out while we conducted the holding treatment. Now we've knocked them down, we're due in next week to remove all the insulation, and debris in both lofts, and disinfect.

Previous pesties had been in, and failed to find the source of the problem, but after 2 weeks we've found that the rats are feeding elsewhere, so we've used liquid poison which has proved effective....... We invisage that by the time we've sorted it and the sparkies, plumbers and loft insulators have been in, the job could stand the Housing Association at over £8k!!!

..............Not looking forward to the clearance though!!!!

WELL PAUL ,

JUST HAD THE SAME AT ONE OF OUR PROPERTYS .... THOUGH TO BE HONEST , FAR , FAR WORSE

YOU COULDNT SEE THE COLOUR OF THE INSULATION FOR DROPPINGS MANY YRS OLD .. THE PLACE WAS STINKING , WE CLEARED THE LOFT , ITS WAS POISONED AND THE CAVITYS TOPS FROM THE WALL PLATE WERE COVERED IN EXMET MESH AFTER BLOCKS OF POISON WERE DROPPED DOWN ........

NOT THE BEST SOLUTION , BUT THE BEST AVAILABLE AS A CAMERA SHOWED NO DRAIN BREAKAGES .......WITH A TERRACED PROPERTY THIS IS ALWAYS A PROBLEM AS THE BREAK IN THE DRAIN COULD BE ANYWHERE ALONG THE LINE .......

ALL THE BEST

The rats had burried under the path of an adjoining property, and for up through the cavity in the double skinned wall and into the loft.

What the pictures don't show is the adjoining bungalow which is equally as bad. They are joined by a pitched car port, and old ratties are traversing the girder which is encapsualted by UPVC box section.....both areas measure roughly 15 x 10 meters..........really not that pleasant at all!!!! lol
