pointer 543
I don't think I'll watch it as i can imagine what's shown, sadly I've been out with lads who consider a pellet put anywhere into a rats body as a Job well done. I've only ever gone for head shots and even then not all die quickly but at least I try and be humane. Quote Link to post

RAMCAM 4
The lad has some very nice gear Thirty ft/lbs i could do a better job on then rats with an 8ft/lb ratcatcher. Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Sadly there are to many videos like this on You-tube, people who just point and shoot cosidering any hit on vermin a success. I hate rats........ I mean really HATE them (shudder), but any hunter worth their salts should take PRIDE in a clean, humane dispatch. I stopped watching at 50 secs in, the bloke just doesnt have a clue. All the gear no idea springs to mind!! Mikey. Absolutely right Mikey. Bad, bad form. Also, it makes another job of go finding and disposing of carcasses that may flop into animal feed troughs or water supply. From what I saw of his rifle, that thing should have been capable of a headshot on a gnat! Guess he wasn't up to his kit! Hunting vids on YouTube get enough drivel from antis thrown at them when the guy's been really professional and humane in his shooting. God knows this is a gift to those who point the finger and brand all of us bloody cruel gun maniacs! Quote Link to post
beddylurcher 70
The lad has some very nice gear Thirty ft/lbs i could do a better job on then rats with an 8ft/lb ratcatcher. i think my 10 yr old sister could do a better job with a stone. Quote Link to post

ulverston moocher 60
I think he needs to go back to plinking and perfect his shooting a bit it leaves a lot to be desired most of the shots on that clip could of easily of been head shots just anouther two bob wanker with no practice and no clue on the job in hand. zini 1,939
Dont really get where you are going with that post there Mustard I never have said or claimed to be an expert Mustard, Im still learning daily too. If you want to talk to an expert then you best speak to Pointer on rats and shooting them mate. Like i said there will be possitive and negative posts. olim 28
before i watched the video i though this post was just a bit of a moan but that definately is not right, he was shooting the rabbits fine but the rats not, so hes quite capable of shooting the rats humanely. the guy is obviously someone on here, why doesnt someone just tell im what hes doing wrong rather than slating him and making the sport look worse. zini 1,939
Not sure where he is from really Olim bud. The video was sent to me from a mate on Youtube who was furious with him and left him quite a stern comment this morning . I believe that from chatting to a few lads on the Tube that he is a proffesional pest controller from some where in the Yorkshire area. If you go onto the Tube you will see plenty of peeps have given him advice already not all nice though . The post was not intended to be a slating of anyone , but just a demo of how not to in-humanely shoot rats and put the greenies in war mode. He is probably a real good shot, looking at the rabbit bit he seems well caperble to me. I think the whole point and what has upset peeps on here is the way he shoots them rats . Renzak 0
Edited due to new info from Chimp (cheers bud) . Guys, I’ve just been sent this clip from my mate HeLLsMeSSnGR on YouTube. He is as I am appalled at what this guy is doing on camera with his air rifle. This is in my opinion a fantastic demo of how not to go about your business when carrying out vermin control. Apparently the rifle is doing 30 ft / lbs which is good for longer range rabbits agreed if the rabbit is hit in the KZ, but on close range rats, I’m not sure richo's and dangerous angles with power around a farm of pond etc It was obvious that the guy was shooting willy nilly at the rats whole body, and its not about the power its about the shot placement or lack of it in this clip. It’s also the reason that people try to ban our sport / hobby / life style. Please use this as a bench mark and something that you will never think is the correct way to humanely kill rats or any other of the vermin species shot with a air rifle. Even a rat deserves a head shot with 12 or 30 ft /lbs if your going to use that much power . Si http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKT3z1exsWA oh that was very sad i just got my first clean kill 2night (rabbit) and was feeling very good about my self because i have let many get away coz was not able to get in range that would get a clean kill. This vid make me want to put my gun down and never pick it up again. (That dude is just a big ape with a big gun) Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Look at it this way Renzak mate, you shot your rabbit perfectly properly from a self-disciplined set of sporting principles we all abide and adhere to. You won't ever lower yourself from the high standard you've set yourself and niether would any decent fellow here. Looking at this vid again, I'm inclined to agree that the rabbits were shot clean and fair but the rats were deemed not worthy of such consideration. This guy can shoot ok. He's just a sadistic little swine who deliberately shot these rodents this way to watch them suffer and get a power trip off the back of his gun. His back-up shots are not exactly swift in coming, are they! Quote Link to post
