not all pheasants are owned.

Quite correct but there not a bird that rear young very well. I would think if you are catching large numbers you are on land that has a shoot or very near to one.

 

but as soon as they leave the shoot ,lets say onto the boys permission there fair game.its even legal to encourage them onto your own area,

 

I used to have a nice bit of permission surrounded by shoots, good bit of rough shooting to be had there. I used to invite the keepers onto it, they never took me up but offered me permission to wander their land a certain times of the year with the lurcher. Trust is the key and luring somebodies phezzies onto your land is just plain wrong. As for catching the odd phezzie with a lurcher I see no harm so long as it is the odd one

Mine had a few ,caught partidge in dark other night but never had a cough after

To be fair if you haven't got a lurcher you shouldn't be pointing your views out when a lad writes about what his lurcher has done in excitement on the lurcher forum if he wrote it in the shooting section to get a bite then fair play let him have it now kiss and make up and start a topic on the fens why it's never been done ?
