Met up with ferreting 22 (john)for the first time on sat at 1 pm. Started on a patch close to home, netted the first warren 12 holes - nothing. Loads of fresh droppings by the holes next warren 15 holes - nothing again. Same fresh droppings everywhere. Off to the next one, one that takes a lot to do with loads and loads of holes in bushes. Anyway, we netted around 30 holes and put one of johns ferrets in with a locater on. Hes got one at 4ft - -one dig one rabbit, ferret back in and another one bolts into the net. Swapped ferrets for one of mine, in he goes, he stops at 6ft. Off we go digging again, 3/4 of the way down, after checking every couple of feet hes moved 3 ft left. Started a new hole 2 ft down, check with locater - hes moved again back to the first hole. Got him rabbit number 3 now 4pm we had to go as we had a half hour drive to meet a farmer at 5 pm on some new permission, as this was the only time he could show us around.

As we where following the farmer to the warren, we see a 5 holer so we dropped a ferret in and within 5 secs, one botled. Got to the bank that the farmer had put us on holes every where 40 + started netting at 5.45 pm with only an hour of light left we had to get a move on locater on he stops at 4 ft. Dig no. 3 very stoney ground - one more for the pot, now it's dark. im glad the farmer new the way back
