old hammer guns proofing info????

Hi I was wondering if any of you fellas in the know could tell me how i find out about proofing? I have been given some old hammer guns which I am interested in selling but no they need to be in "proof" how do i find this out? Any info kindly recieved thanks in advance

There are only 2 proof houses in the uk as far as i believe, ones in birmingham, the other in london,

from what i hear the london proof is the better of the 2 with regard to caring for the guns that they handle,

thanks, but is there any way to find out if they are in proof now or will they have to be sent away and proofed anyway?

Take them to your local dealer who should have a bore guage which will measure the barrel thickness and he will be able to tell if it is in proof or not.

Any doubts then don't sell them as you are responsible for them
