HFT is a waste of good lead in my opinion... :whistling::laugh:

Never tried it myself, I don't think there's a range anywhere near me. Could be a nice way to spend a few hours brushing up on your skills & have a laugh with your mates.

Hats off to ya mate!

I thought the same about HFT till I had a go at the AA meet. It's more or less proof to yourself you can do it in any given situation and the satisfaction when you see that plate fall.

You'll have to let us know when the meet will be mate so me n wor kid can venture down

Yep same here would be bang up for it.

I have started doing a fair bit of HFT, and have found it has increased my marksmanship. My range finding and wind estimation has improved lots. There is also a lot of knowledge at the club I benefit from. It has improved my shooting in the field also, making me more comfortable to take longer shots in less ideal conditions. I agree its not for everyone, but it has worked wonders for me.

Kind Regards,

Mikey.

I've wanted to have a go at HFT for a while, if for nothing else other than social reasons, but there's not a club within a reasonable distance of me. That place looks pretty good, and I'd definitely be up for a meet there next year. Even though it is nearly 5 hours away!

Nightwish?

The handle anything to do with the band? Just got a load of their cd's but not listened to them yet.

Hey Ron,

The last meet was the 1st time I'd actually done a full course. I'd had the odd shot at Roos, but never did the course because I never considdered myself good enough for HFT :icon_redface: Simply because its very, very competative round here and the locals tend to use things like Styers and Ripley's etc.....

I only took part in Davy's and Chaz's because I had made the journey from up here and thought 'what the ell, I'm here I'll give it a go, got sod all to loose, I'm not here to win, just to meet people and if I come last its no big deal really'

That was the attitude I took, I was there for the social side.

And what a weekend it was, good food, good beer, amazing atmosphere and amazingly nice people :boogie:

So if Gary, Shannon and Darryl can make it down by car and me using public transport you can too  cuz you'll have a wonderful time with the rest of us.:boogie:

Oh, I'll make it don't worry! You get used to having to drive miles and miles when you live where I do!

Yep, Ill second that.

The meet was my first meet ever too, and first time at HFT.

It was a brilliant weekend and both me and Laura really enjoyed it apart from my sore head saturday morning, Garfield and Reggaemans fault :whistling: and me getting beaten, well hammered by laura on the HFT course :censored:

Mindya i wasnt the only one to be beat by a girl was i Gary? LOL

Chicks and r10's  Midya she didnt manage the 10mm target at 5 metres :tongue2:

If we both get another invite from Davys meet next Summer shes having the new Ultra  . Hopefully i might stand some sort of chance then

Got to say the HFT courses are real fun and if set up correctly test the shooter well.

Add a cross wind from a valley like ours was and the targets set out at weird ranges and you have a real test.
