Rake aboot 4,936 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Share Posted October 24, 2010 Aye I`ll be honest mate ! if you dont know what you`re doing,,,dont do it. get yourself a good guide and learn to identify them. for instance,,,I could put up a pic of a common field mushroom that is quite edible and tasty,,but you might pick one and not notice that it goes bright yellow when you cut it and be poisened cause it`s a totally different mushroom that looks almost identical. I pick and eat lots of mushrooms but you must learn to identify,, it`s pretty easy and well worth the time. After saying all that,,giant pufballs are pretty easy and make superb soup !!! make sure it`s nice and white all the way through! Good luck and put the effort in. the ratcatcher 1 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Share Posted October 24, 2010 i agree get yourself a good pocket guide book and identify them properly before you attempt to eat them i have been out collecting with people before now and they asked if one was edible as they didnt no so i playing a joke on them told them i didnt no and that there was only one way to find out as a put a piece in my mouth lol and ive had people offer me mushroom soup on a few occassions but thats one i wont eat because they are so easily mistaken Quote Link to post Share on other sites
