Dan Edwards 1,134
red doesnt need 3 other backup dogs to kill his hare That may be true but he wont be catchin jack rabbits here in the terrain most of them live in either. Quote Link to post
toby1066 413
why not? salukis kill in similar conditions in their country of origin and have sturdy feet that cope with dry and sandy desert terrain Quote Link to post
Dan Edwards 1,134
why not? salukis kill in similar conditions in their country of origin and have sturdy feet that cope with dry and sandy desert terrain Its pretty simple really. The salukis that get hunted in that similiar environment from what I have seen run nothing like that. They are fast up and at em dogs that run damn near like a greyhound. Quote Link to post
artic 595
I'm quit sure that is not US style coursing but you go ahead and believe what you want. I accept it may not be representative mate, but it's all I could find. You most likely wont find any videos of it. I would say though that it is done most of the time doubled up. Alot of the guys that are doing it here will be runnin dang near pure greyhounds types and will be hunting not coursing if that makes any sense to ya at all. A bit like this partner. 2 Quote Link to post

I think they call them Cold Bloods in the book i read about coursing in America, a lot was donedoubled and sometimes more in the chase, be interesting to take a top class fenn fdog over there to see if it could stop em single handedover there Quote Link to post
Dan Edwards 1,134
That's pretty much exactly what one would look like. And articgun, them top notch coursing dogs over there would do just fine here. There wont be an ounce of difference from the good ones there and the good ones here. They will both do good here or there. Those of us that actually hunt over here do not have some kinda inflated ego nor superiority complex. We are not so foolish as to think our dogs our better than yours. Dont let something you see or read on the internet fool ya. 1 Quote Link to post

The book i read is well known and very well written and interesting mate, the author is a man I'd like to meet and watch his hounds course there is always summat to be learned in this game,so many places to run this type of hound. The day I don't want to learn anymore is the day to packin coursing Quote Link to post

STUNTMAN 552
my grandad was right about you americans during war u couldnt read anything and shot more of your own that u did germans but took all the credit for winning the war . there is not a bit on my post of me saying that your dogs are shit i just said i tliek me saying your dogs are shit but that would be making me look like an idiot because i havent a clue about them. but you are a connisseur of uk coursing now . my advice stick to what you know dan and have some good hunting Your grand father was WRONG.... London was in rubble and Wiston broke out the knee pads an asked for help. Good thing or you guys would be discussing schutzhund now instead of open field coursing. But that’s ok Desert Hunter I know U.K. command hand the whole invasion plan in place along with the resources for Europe and the technologies for the a-bomb. Did you know what one of the worst modern military defeats is considered? Isandhlwana, 1879. Never mind Dunkirk. Just another american idiot clueing you an your grandpappy in. Quote Link to post
