I hood all my birds including harris's. It would also be advisable to find yourself a mentor, to give you back-up advice if it is required. Good luck & Enjoy!! Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
Hello John I'm chuffed to bits you're taking up a bird mate! like eskdalehawks said its good to see someone do their homework first, must say I didn't expect anything different from you . Its a shame you live so far away mate as I have a old pair of Harris I have bred with for years now, the father is 21 and the mother 16 and they have litteraly been going at it since she was 4, the father is a bird originaly imported over by the BFC which was used for their aprentiship schemes they was running back then, he finaly came to me and ended up shagging most of his life . I have three 2010 20 weeks old Harris's here at the moment, two females and one male! I have never advertised them as to be honest since I moved out here in the sticks the security isn't perfect so I have been a bit careful, normaly they all go abroad as a job lot but this year I let her just do the one clutch which wasn't worth while to the guy who normaly takes them, all three can go for a song to decent falconers as to be Honest they now want taking up badly to be flown. I won't let you have one as I think you are doing the right thing and waiting until next year which is very wise. all I can say mate if you want one of these next year send me a PM and I'm sure you're bank balance won't get broken in any way . Take Care Jasp Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
Hello John just a few pictures of some young HH's from this old pair. I wasn't going to bother to breed them next year! the plan was to let them start off some Gos eggs for me. The father was a genuine mexican Imported bird and very dark as you can see from some of his young in the pictures belonging to other people who sent me them, All the years I have had this pair I have never realy kept many pictures. trouble is I am miles away! the alternative is a courier I suppose or there should be plenty of breeders closer to home but the offer is here if you fancied one. Cheers Jasp By the way I can't PM you for some reason Quote Link to post

bcjaybc 1
They are just so wonderful creatures. i have always loved the big wedge tail and if i see one flying i can sit there for as long as i can see it and just watch. i think they (birds of prey) are one of if not the best hunter ever. But in Aus we its illegal to keep birds of prey. i would of loved one after i had finished my uni course when i had more time for it. Quote Link to post
