longnetter 32
No they don't rot but they do absorb water so like the ferreter said you need to dry 'em out Quote Link to post
The one 8,505
After you get back from ferreting i hang mine up and everytime i pass them i give thjem a shake i think that helps dry them and knocks out any crap thats in them .if you look after your kit it will pay you back in the long term Quote Link to post
Aaron_butcher 17
Thanks lads, while I'm here I've got a net making question. I've been copying some nets I've already got that are 15 meshes wide by 10 meshes long, when I make mine to this size I have alot of bag left in the middle. All the websites tell me to make them 4 foot but that's to big for my liking. Would decreasing the width to 12 meshes make my nets lay flatter or wpuld my net be to thin. They work fine but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I'd like them to lay a bit flatter . Thanks alot, Aaron. Quote Link to post
The one 8,505
Mate that the idea its tha bag that catches the rabbit i make mine 20 meshes wide by 4 foot im in the game to catch rabbits no save on twine ,who was it that said a Big net will catch what a Small net cant ? Shove the bottom ring down the burrow spread the rest over the burrow mouth and they lie flat enough Quote Link to post
Aaron_butcher 17
I've always used 3 foot 6. I bought some 4 footers not to long ago but I hate them. I stick my ring in the hole anyway mate. Never had trouble with not catching. Quote Link to post
max abell 196
Only make and use 4ft long by 18 meshes wide spun poly they cover most size holes sometimes 3ft 6 can be a bit tight on some of the larger holes so for the sake of knitting another 6 rows you get a better size net i am in no way knocking 3ft 6 nets but would not go back to them after making 4fts Quote Link to post
