Lurchers and Terriers

Ive had my lurcher 2 years now decided to get a terrier aswell problem is when the lurch catches owt and the terrier goes near it he go's mad, hes sound with him or any other dog aslong its not near his catch. Can i stop this or not?

hi mate my lurcher does the same if there is game on the ground and a nother dog goes neer it she goes mad i think this was caused by working her along side the terriers when she catches 1 she runs away with it now because the terriers were trying to get it of her she used to retreive to hand am not saying this will happen to you but be aware mate just incase as far as trying to stop her from snappin at other dogs dont no the best answer my dog is over 3 now and still does it good luck

my old lurcher bitch,15 years now was very protective over her kills,a very calm steady bitch usually but turned into a demon with a kill,just had to be on the ball whenever she caught something to stop real fights starting.

couldn,t do anything to change her attitude.
