jac 12
I have a friend who has chickens, and a fox has moved in to the garden. now like me she's got a soft spot for the fox (no anti comennts please ) But she knows the fox cant stay. the RSPCA and Council wont do anything so I have offerd to find someone to shoot it , and she has said she will think on the offer. I would be looking for someone who knows how to shoot a fox quick and clean. the lady lives in a house on a residential street in derbyshire and has a baby so i need someone who is very experienced and can do the job on there own and has a gun that can do the job properly, hence why i will not do it myself, i dont think my air rifle could make a clean kill . I am still waiting for her to get back to me. but if you can do it or know who can do the job please p.m me.
FightTheBan 1,147
What are you planning to drill it with in a residential area? Safest most legal way is to cage trap and humane dispatch. FTB
Guyver: Bioboosted Armor 6
Maybe if she asks it nicely it will leave. If that doesn't work she could try shooooing it with a handkerchief. By the way what caliber of rifle did you have in mind for a residential street in Derbyshire? ratattack 111
Cage trap only on residential street. Well unless you want a load of cops with rifles pointed at you!
jac 12
well i have never shot a fox so i dont know what you would need. witch is why i need someone in the know. its made a den in the garden. she has thought about cleaning the den out but i dont think that will work. she dont want it eating the chckens
FightTheBan 1,147
What do you mean its made a den? Is there a hole there? If so problems easy solved.
jac 12
i havent seen it myself. but she said its made a den in the garden so i think that means its dug a hole
RicW 67
PM Urban Pest Controller who is a regular in the shooting forums. I'm sure he will confirm live trap and humane dispatch with .22lr or .410, but ask the man himself. Ric

stubby 175
rather than a "proffessional fox man", think you mean "proffessional pest controller" although the fox could be shot in situ so to speak, by a pestie with an open ticket specifiying pest control, still far better to cage trap it, then humanely dispatch on site. and as pesties go, they'd want payment for it, far to much time and hassel to do it for free
fozzy41 9
Can`t really see the problem depending on the size of the garden and so long as there is a safe backstop to use. I used to shoot foxes on a turkey farm on the border of Derbyshire near Totley golf course without a problem using a .22 rimmy. That place was surrounded by a housing estate. fozzy Edited October 22, 2010 by fozzy41

jac 12
yah i know what you saying. witch is why i am stepin gentle on this, dont want to put her off the idea of despatch.
