zini 1,939
Hi Water, Ive witnessed a reg on here shoot 1 hole groups at a lased 30 metres with his .177 Ultra. He used AA Fields. Ive also seen him put a .177 pellet through a washer with a centre hole maybe 2 mm wider than the pellet diameter at a lased 30 metres with the same Ultra. This Ultra was straight off the shelf and not tuned etc. Either your barrel is not happy with your pellet choice or maybe there is something wrong with the rifle or your shooting technique pal (I dont mean to sound rude). If i come over that way i apologise now buddy. Its just an option pal. if you look on the BSA owners forum 99% of Ultra shooters use either Bislay magnums or AA Fields. stealthy1 3,964
I went for a wander with Falcongit when he first took his Ultra out for a target session, and it just would'nt group, when we checked the barrel end we found the pellets were just catching the moderator, with it off it shot tight groups after ajustment, when the mod was replaced it shot fliers all over the countryside, we tried my mod from my HW100KT and it grouped 5p's at 30 yards, so take your mod off and zero, let us know how you get on Quote Link to post
venomviper 129
hi ya buddy they suffer with a power curve matey until they have been reg'd or jb'd buddy if you send it off to tench for a reg'd your gun will be changed without words pal i found that out when i first got when when they came out plus check the sas silencer as well they aint very good please dont take offence with what i have said here is a link to tench simon is very good at what he does and cheap as well plus if you take it to him he will show you what he is doing the bloke is a star mate http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2104.0 you will have to register but well worth it pal hope this helps and i agree with the above when it has been reg'd you will have to get a hw silencer for it or a twink mk2 silencer which as si would say is the best on the market and everyone on here are changing to the twink mk2 silencers shay Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hiya Water. If the rifle is fairly new I would also pull the barrel through to clean out the factory oil. Take a small piece of lint free cloth, and dip it in white spirit, then wrap the soaked piece in a dry cloth to remove the majority of the white spirt( Dont want it running back into the breach when you pull it through ) Use a piece of 50lb breaking strain fishing line, doulble it so it is long enough to go through the length of the barrel, with a good bit left out to get a hold of. Put the pice you have soaked in the loop, and pull through the barrel from breech to muzzle. Do this a couple of times, then use a clean dry piece to dry the barrel lands and grooves. Then fire 50 to a 100 shot's through to re lead the barrel. Hope Im not telling you how to suck egg's mate, just trying to add to the other help and advise ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
