Ratting/Bushing Terrier

Hi,

 

I have posted in Retrievers/Gundog forum recently asking about labs.

 

I'm thinking about getting a dog in next 12 months and cant decide what to get. I wanna give it some thought.

 

Firstly it will be a family dog, in the house.

Secondly it will be my companion when out walking, mooching, shooting etc.

 

I was thinking about a lab because of ability to retrieve what I shoot.

 

However I'm now considering terriers. Possibly Patterdale or Lakeland. My mate has just had a little Patt x and its lovely. Would also like to do a bit of ratting now and again.

 

I aren't interested in it going to ground, is this inevitable winth all small terriers? And which terrier would be better for bushing/ratting/mooching.

i would get a jagd terrier for that kind of work (retreving)

my border dose all that, would be grate for you. easy to train, grate in the house woulnt no he was here, can work all day long. never had any real problems with him. grate little dogs.
