Finished and full Twink Mark 2 silencer review

Hi lads,

 

Here is the finished review and test that I have been doing on the Twink Mark 2 silencer as part of my new DVD .

 

Some people may find the results quite surprising .

 

The sound metres don’t lie though .

 

I hope that you enjoy the review .

The test was done fairly.

 

I as did Davy and many other Twink users know that the Twink is the better silencer out of a short list of good ones.

 

We are only talking between 1 and 5 db, but every db counts to being a better mod.

 

i just needed scientific proof before i posted it on my new DVD.

 

Now ive got it so im happy

 

Addie Waugh is the man when it comes to silencers.

Hi lads,

 

I have received a PM today from a mate and he as brought up some good points that I would just like to clarify.

 

1. The difference between the HW, SAK and Twink Mark 2 silencer is very little in terms of db. (1 – 5) db infact.

 

This being said please read on.

 

2. The reason that I used the other 2 silencers (HW and SAK) is because they both are top class silencers and well known by shooters to be very quiet silencers, they are also a real test for any new up and coming silencer.

 

3. In my eyes if the Twink could match or beat the other 2 quality silencers then it would be a very good silencer, as the HW and SAK silencers are in their own rights very good items and well worth their money.

 

4. 5 db or 1 db is nothing really if you think that the wind going through the trees with a slight breeze on the footage was producing 40 db on the sound meter.

 

5. The point here though as seen is that the Twink was quieter and as I’ve already stated every db quieter is a bonus in my books.

 

6. I don’t want guys that use HW and SAK silencers on their combos thinking that if they changed silencers to the Twink Mark 2 that they would fall on the floor with amazement and their rifle would be silent, because no rifle will become silent.

 

7. I also don’t want come backs from angry shooters thinking that I have conned them and waited money for them, I have changed from a SAK to a Twink myself and I paid the correct amount of money for mine, I’m not on any commission off Addie and as I said on the review I’m more than happy with mine and I have noticed a difference on my r10.

 

8. I’ve also bought one for my new Ultra that’s getting Tench tuned. If I was trying to con or mislead anyone I wouldn’t con or try to mislead myself and buy 2.

 

9. The Twink Mark 2 silencer has proved itself to be quieter than the other 2 silencers but by 1 to 5 db’s. (still better in my books against the quality it was tested against).

 

10. If I would of tested the Twink against a Air Arms or Webley silencer people would of come back to me and said “You should of tested it against a HW, SAK or BSA VC silencer†something that is good and well recommended by everyone.

 

11. If I would of used a good but standard silencer as a bench mark the Twink would of blew them into the next galaxy in terms of performance (fact) and the review would have had no meaning.

 

12. I have spoken to Simon Howarth last week via email and people who know him as Tench will know that he is as Addie is and John Bowkett a rifle God. He told me that he uses a Twink himself and that he highly recommends them (enough said).

 

13. I wanted to give the review and the excellent Twink Mark 2 silencer and Addie Waugh the credit he and it really deserves and by using good silencers to test it against I think I did that.

 

I hope people see where I was coming from?

 

 

I hope this clears everything up and the people who I’ve offended with the review can understand my thoughts and forgive me.

so when yah getting one tony so we can have a looksy at the baffles an stuff :) an the sound meter is a good idea,, but the maplin one is built to a budget an has a Accuracy: ± 3.5dB @1KHz, 94dB not that most people could hear the differance of ± 15 dB but hey it shows a slight differance its all witch craft at the end of the day if it works it works i will stick with my modded AA mod for now

thats what i like about this section of the thl nearly everyone on here is a gent on other sections (woof woof) this would of deteriorated into a load of name calling an abuse.the test was fair an the difference was there no matter how small. the twink is a lot quieter than a standard air arms one an thats the only other one i have used. fair play to you zini.
