new scope for tx200hc

Recommended Posts

Hi Mate,

I use a Nikko Sterling on mine mate and it seems to do the job just fine. Thinking of putting my Hawke on over winter as it has an illuminated reticule which I find handy when out lamping.

It all depends on your budget mate. How much you looking at spending?

Crikey - how long is a piece of string?

What will you be using it for? If hunting, what sort of distance are you expecting to shoot over and what magnification are you comfortable with?

The mainstay of air rifle scopes has for year been the 3-9 X 40 scope which will do the job pretty well. If you want to upgrade from that you can get bigger magnification ranges and objective lenses, that allow more light in. That being said, I believe that most shots set a magnification and leave it at that. On my rimfire I actually have a fixed 6 X 56 scope which I am perfectly happy with, but my air rifles have various combinations of scope.

Stick with an established brand and you won't go far wrong.

However as with most things, you pays yer money and takes yer choice.

Good luck

Hi mate

TX200s are a quality rifle and deserve quality glassware. I use a Bushnell 4-14x50 Scopechief on my .177 TX200HC which is just perfect. They don't make this scope anymore alas but other Bushnell models seem to really suit these rifles equally well. I also have a TX200 standard .22 rifle currently fitted with a Bushnell Banner 6-18X50 which is performing superbly well and for not a lot of money for a quality-name scope as this maker. Also, I would certainly consider a Nikko Stirling Nighteater Platinum 6-24X45 mildot which is proving a great Target and Hunting scope on both my TX200/HC as well. It's like everything else in life, You get what you pay for with scopes. Don't expect much, if you don't pay much. BUT, the Bushnell Banner and Nikko Stirling Nighteater are excellent optics for not a lot of dosh!

Heyo matey.

From what you set for budget your comfortable shooting ranges and low-light, dusk shooting, I'd certainly give Nikko Stirling a serious look over their range of scopes. Mikeyblue is clearly happy with his and my 6-24X45 Platinum nighteater does the job for me. I'm seriously thinking of adding a few more of their scopes myself as they seem to offer a robust, accurate and well-made ,scope for quite reasonable money. Certainly not hearing any gripes or complaints about them! Hope you get sorted out and shooting well with your TX200HC ASAP!
