Another quick lamping session

Recommended Posts

Well decided me an Scotty would head up the same permission as last week to see what was about.

Decided to start off at a different bit this time. Theres a road on the permission to some kind of landfill site they have. I volunteered to hold and shine the lamp, and Scott could shoot. Walking up the treeline, we spotted a good few here and there. Scott got two shots off but both were misses!! So said that maybe his scope was off (excuses excuses :whistling: ) so i told him i would show him how its done! (kidding, he asked me if i wanted a shot at the shooting  )

Walked up about 20 yards or so and spotted two together, one disappeared but one stuck about. Scott got the lamp on it and i got down to the prone position. Got it in the sights but i was about to pull the trigger and it moved, this happened again until it settled. I knew it was roughly on my zero, and could only be maybe 5 yards or so ether side of zero as the lamp with the red filter on doesnt shine all that far. I could see the rabbit pretty well so knew it wasnt too far away. To be honest im not all that impressed with the logun lamp, looking into getting a Deben Tracer Max or maybe Atom.

Anyway im straying here, after a wee while it settled and i lined the shot up and bang! Right in the killzone, stone dead. We had another wee walk about, catching a few in the lamp but didnt get the chance to shoot. So we decided to head back over to the farm building.

We couldnt do much walking about the farm/stables, there was about 15 cars there, turns out they hire the riding arena out for people who take dog classes, looked like crufts type of thing. Headed to where we shot last time, got over the hill to see about 4 rabbits making an exit, still need to master sneaking up this hill stealthily. Waited for about 20 mins but nothing. Went for a quick wander, caught a few in the lamp but were to far away so we called it a night.

Anyway here it is, with my pride and joy :D (even though it was shot with the Ultra :tongue2: ).................

Hi johnboy at least that rabbit made it worthwhile bud.

I was looking into getting the logun lamp but was put off by the reviews it got. Also seemed to be plenty for sale ,that set alarm bells ringing.

I got one of these from ebay after Phantom put a link up.CREE R2 LED 300Lumens Tactical Flashlight Charger Set

They give off crackin light and for 24 quid including postage, canny whack it.It came to me with torch not working, but give the seller credit he sent a new one straight away with a wee pouch aswell. No problems since.

They are reviewed in an airgun mag this month under a different name ,but cost over 80 quid with all the xtrs costing extra.
