terrys 0
Hello Mate I had a little Whippet/Grey bitch that took a few for me on the lamp. She was an old second hand dog, and the only lurcher that I have ever had. But she did kill 3 for me over a few seasons - just ones that we come across when rabbiting with her. When I say kill I mean she held them until we got to her - sometimes letting them go then getting them again. She became really angry when she had one, not wanting to let go of it even when its was dead, but she was gentle with rabbits. She never actually lost one once she had hold of it. I am much more comfortable when they are hunted with a stronger dogs that can kill them on its own. Its gets a bit messy with the smaller dogs even though its good that they have the have the heart to catch them for you. Only my view. Good luck Terry Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
Seen some crackin little dogs that were mustard on foxes pre-ban. An iron hard beddy whippet/grey that'd run through a brick wall to get one and a collie whippet cur that had no teeth and would hold 'em all day, no quit in them little dogs over many years. I also owned a grew that took a fair few each season for all of her working life. For me though, when foxes were a priority, i'd always go for a bigger dog. Quote Link to post
