From T'other night

After the Myxie bunny the other day and Jo putting nags back in the paddock I decided to have a gander round the boneyard

Got set up, checked the zero and took a wander, nowt about  so went back and sat on the bench for a while pondering over some things.

Turned very very cold all of a sudden and I decided, I just couldn't really be arsed with it.

Decided one more wander around with the lamp and then home for a nice hot coffee.

Got towards the dividing hedge between the old and new section and flicks on the lamp. One pair of eyes over by the fence between Mrs G's and the cemy. It legged it along the fence and I had assumed it had gone back into BunnyLand as it dissapeared behind a large grave stone.

I had the orange filter on and I was heavily backlight by the orange streetlight so I continued to swing the lamp. Far over the other end of the cemy was another set of eyes that turned into a white tail and fecked off back towards the paddock :wallbash:

As I walked towards the far end, I chanced a scan of the right side of the cemy and there behind that headstone was a single bright orange jewel. Less than thirty yards. So without thinking I lined up the shot and thanks to Bill, my standing shots have improved greatly as the softer curves of my baby now fall perfectly into my hand. By the time I had realised how good this gun feels now, I had gone through the cycle and the pellet streaked from the muzzle the streak of light ended with a loud CRACK and the image of a bunny rolling over kicking wildly for a second or so then lowering and that as they say was "Ferret Food"

Nice big bunny there mate. You brave man shooting in the cemy at night,

What changes have you made to your gun that makes it fit so good ?

Also ,where did you get your filter ,and is it for the surefire lamp?

Ditto what fry says ,need to improve my standing shots, but quite happy using what support i can ,or taking a shot when crouched or prone.Think a lighter gun than the S16 would also help.I remember from shooting the s200 at the gun club just how light as a feather it is.

Thank you all Gentlemen :gunsmilie:

Nice on Phantom. Im just back in from a wee lamping session, managed one aswell, currently being munched upon by 3 hungry ferrets at the moment

How you getting on with the ferrets mate?

Good work John

They are little monsters, but great . The male is so laid back, the female thinks "If it moves, its mine" and that includes my feet :icon_eek:

I've been told to freeze the bunnies for minimum of 24 hours before reading them to the fezzers, to kill any harmful bacteria and fleas etc...

Wife is certainly not happy about me putting meat in fur coats in the freezer, but thats her tough luck.

good shot phantom wish i could hit more standing up without the help of a fence post or tree

I used to detest standing shots on live quarry, but a few nights with the rats has helped my standing shots immensely

Case of fast target aquisition and shooting or its gone. It seems to have transferred through to my bunny shots as well :boogie:

Seems like only Bill and RiffRaff noticed the change in my baby :wallbash::tongue2:

The square ugly bikini stock has gone now (the sharp sides of the forestock used to dig into my tendons on left hand) for a much sexier all in one  with rounded forend thanks to Bill :notworthy:

Not brave; lets face it the place is full of dead people, not like they can do me any harm is it.

Halloween will be fun though I'm sure. If its like last year; kids walking past in their zombie costumes and a guy with a gun inside the cemetery.

Think this year I'll tell the nosey ones that stand at the gate gawping

"I'm here to make sure they stay dead this year;, cus they like to get up for a walk tonight. OH SHIT, there comming RUN" or summat like that

Got a set of these 4 filters for the torch. BARGAIN

I was absolutely knackered last night Si  was tucked up before midnight!!

Thought I was gonna drift to sleep naturally for the 1st time in years. Alas at 02:30 this morning I resorted to the tablets to knock me out :wallbash:

Hiya Tony.

SP for your spirit :whistling:

Not sure who told you that mate, but it's complete BS. Obviously I freeze rabbits for storage, but the only time I make sure they're frozen before being fed is if they have fleas- but a visual inspection will tell you if they have any. As for harmful bacteria? Not many wild predators have a freezer, do they?

Anyway, good shooting- the s200 definitely looks better for the new stock.

Hi Ron,

It was probably just for the fleas my mistake, the comment was "To kill off certain things that could be harmful".

Almost every one of the bunnies round here has fleas to some extent or another  Which is why I am now so worried about the Myxie at the moment. It seems to be rife round this area for the last couple of years

Luckily until last week there had not been any on my permission, but given the amount of fleas, I reckon it's gonna rip an new butthole in the bunny populus on my permissions :censored::wallbash:

Fair play. One of my permissions had a flea explosion last summer, and I really expected myxi to rip through and decimate it. I only came across one myxi rabbit though, and haven't seen one on the property since, so sometimes you (and the bunnies!) get lucky.
