redeye jedi 39 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Share Posted October 20, 2010 witch ark otc there have been five the one before the last was my fave built at lairds on the mersey , the ark has had its day mate sad but true the paki navy will buy her are turn her into a floating corner shop I was on this Ark Royal - the one before went out in 1979 I think - a bit before my time ... It is/was a good ship but will soon be gone, they are starting to strip her down next week. It was a big shock for all sailors as no-one, including the First Sea Lord, knew anything about it being scrapped until he read it in the paper on Tuesday morning like everyone else OTC absolute piss take in my eyes that SDSR was nothing more than a huge spending review! nothing to do with the way we need to change for the future, if it was then they would of left our pay and pensions alone!!!! No-one seems to know the answers either - the head shed are as baffled by the ambiguous small print as we are The redundancy packages are laughable too - have you seen them yet? Yes mate busy as fook, would of been better if they'd released the info with hard facts not "this could/might be happening we'll know more in a few months" ive only heard rumours about the redundancy packages, 3 stages i've heard. it might be ok for some people in certain situations lets hope they get volunteers not volun-tolds!
