well ive just getn my first jack russel bitch pup 8 weeks old short legged type al try nd put pics up but mite take time, any way shes great i have made a dummy rat nd dummy rabbit nd she goes crazy for them so time will tell, when the time comes ive been woundering what to breed with her any ideas long legged jr, or a small legged jr the same as she is or something difrrent altogeather any ideas? also the pups brothers and sisters were red nd white and her mother and farther was red and white she was the only blk nd white ??

What if it turns out not to be a worker you still going to breed it? I wouldn't even think about breeding a dog until it has proven itself useful and that will need time more than 2 years but thats just my opinion, Its why alot of rubbish is being produced from unproven parents.

yes it may end in tears. but theres still a lot of genuine youngens out there. if we can try a bit of guidence. least we tryed. yes i also agree thay should do a bit of research. but its not always the case. i found the best advice was learning through my own mistakes. think that goes for most youngens. atb

thanks lads for the replys i wud like to appolgise to fight the ban for my post eaier im sorry if i afended any one but im sort of new to the game and as some people put it im a youngn 22 ive been going out with lads nd there dogs and thought a jr wud suit me for rattin she seems keen like ased on the dummys i made so looks promising her mother is a worker am not sure about farther but i think he is, just a bit advive wud help me a great deal off you people on here i will take it in what ever yous recomend nd keep it all to mind so thanks mick

A bit of advice for you border bitch is concentrate on rearing and shaping your pup into a worker. Concentrate on what you have, not what you want and you will do well. If all you want the dog for is rats and rabbits then that's great, and I appreciate that.

 

But get the idea of breeding out your head, at least for the forseable future. You only have to look at the for sale section on here to see there is more than enough breeding done by inexperienced individuals for the wrong reasons.

 

If, in time you want another pup, buy one from a well bred well reared litter.

If after rearing a few dogs you still desire to breed your bitch and accept the hassle, hard work and heartache that goes with it. Then by all means go ahead and I won't be there to criticise.

 

All the best with your dog.

 

There are people on here willing to help if your willing to listen.

 

Take it all in and sort the wheat from the chaff yourself.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing so watch who you listen to.
