halamrose 24
They have been discussed here a few times, do a search on 'cci segmented' or similar. Not tried them myself but I don't remmeber anyone being impressed. Halam Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
I bought a box to try. Not overly impressed and to my ears, certainly louder than my Winnies or Remmies. Quote Link to post
liongeorge 7
Out of my Browning A bolt they defineately stop the ricochets now for the 'but'. 1 they're loud 2. they're expensive 3. They don't feed in or out well 4. They're no where near as acurate as eley subs. Great idea lets hope one of the decent manufacturers finishes the job well. Quote Link to post
drut 9
Accurate enough out of my CZ & hit hard but still get ricochets although they do sound different.Won't buy again because they are too loud,at least 50% of my batch definitely going supersonic.Hard to chamber in CZ as well as expensive are other downsides. Deker 3,478
They don't appear to have improved since they were first debated some months back! Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
I shot quite a few of them at targets today for the fun of it. Most definitely louder, one or two even going supersonic. Accuracy wasn't too bad but for the loudness and price, nah not for me. Quote Link to post
HUnter_zero 58
Most definitely louder, one or two even going supersonic. My mate had a batch of Remington subsonic from Keen's and it was the same. Some were certainly sub-sonic and others were more like stingers. Did you find a zero shift between the two on the target (if that makes sense?)? The Remington's my mate shot, produced erratic grouping akin to a shotgun pattern. Have you ever shot a rabbit with the segmented ammo? Did the bullet actually segment? Thanks John Quote Link to post
drut 9
"Have you ever shot a rabbit with the segmented ammo? Did the bullet actually segment?" Shot quite a few, bullet splits into 3 "petals" right enough & makes some mess!Whether ricochets split & thus travel less far is the question I would like an answer to. Quote Link to post

I find Remingtons through my rifle are a bit like a shotgun normally Quote Link to post

I find Remingtons through my rifle are a bit like a shotgun normally My mate purchased 1000 rounds of the Remington ammo and it's simply useless due to the variations in velocity. I stick to Eley subs these days, but used to use Winchester subs. Many a year ago, we always used T22 (Winchester). John Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
In my humble experience - cci rimfire ammo is a pile of absolute shite both being inconsistent velocity and accuracy wise through my cz. Quote Link to post
sibaldib 6
I bought a batch for my CZ452 and they were nowhere near as consistent/accurate/quiet as the Eley subs that I normally use. Also I'm not convinced that the ricochets are any better/less dangerous. I think that someone like Gunmart or Sporting gun did a test on them and were not overly impressed. Cheers Sib Quote Link to post
HUnter_zero 58
Well thats one to mark off the wanted list! Thanks guys that saved me some pennies and a whole lot of zeroing. John Quote Link to post
theinvisiblescarecrow 0
Bought a box to try not long ago. Not tried them yet. I did notice a warning on the box. Do not shoot at hard objects. I assume stones & the like that's normally found in fields. Oh well. Quote Link to post
