AzMaN 0
Howdie all, Ive just brought an 06 plate quadbike, its nice, quick and the tax is free as its registered as an agricultural machine, but theres a catch, the law as i understand it says it can only travel between place of registration and an agricultural premisis as i read it, which means the airport i work at wont count. I dont intend to use it all the time, im looking at snow days so i can actualy get to work as the council round here dont know how to clear a road. Anyway obviously tractors ect get contracted out to places that are not farms, such as building sites, footbal pitches ect, so if i was to use it for use at the airport, to move aircraft around, would i then be able to avoid geting it re-classed?? SEAN3513 7
in a word no it must be used between farm (base) and land belonging the farm (owned or rented) and as an agricultural vehicle it is limited to a maximum, single, on road journey of (1.6km i think) it would be better to re-class it as plg.......then you can go anywhere. providing it has lights , indicators etc and is capable of passing an mot

SEAN3513 7
Limited use vehicles You can tax your vehicle in the ‘limited use’ tax class if it’s used solely for purposes relating to agriculture, horticulture or forestry and: * it’s used on public roads only in passing between different areas of land occupied by the same person * the distance it travels on public roads in passing between any two such areas does not exceed 1.5 kilometres
