Shooting in the Cotswolds

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have just moved to Cirencester to study at the Royal Ag. and was looking for some rough shooting or pigeon/crow shooting over the winter in the area. I know it's a bit of a long shot but it would be great to be able to get out of the books and into the field, not looking for much, just the occasional Saturday. I'm 25, a member of BASC and have been shooting for a couple of years.

Let me know if any of you guys have land or want a shooting buddy!

Cheers

there definitely not. the college ground in not that suitable. farms round it are fairly anti RAC for lots of reasons (arrogant poaching twats of old ruined that for you, driving the land with shite arse dogs, you will meet plenty of them)there is even a security firm that runs the area now for that reason at certain times of year. my advice would be to befriend a few lads there that are not from too far away, most will be into shooting or at least pretend to be, just sort the good ones from the tools. you will find more available land south of ciren than north and there is generally ore game that way. also remember its a big hunting area, the college having their own pack and the vwh surrounding you.

There are indeed a lot of arrogant knobheads who go to the college there i agree. They do have a poor rep in the area, thats posh kids let loose for the first time without mummy and daddy for ya though. Ive shot the areas around there and the bathurst estate for pigeons. Lots of people do but you need to find who to speak to.

Their pack of hounds are beagles, good day out. :)
